As of January 1, 2025, Alberta has implemented a new tax on vaping products, set at $1.12 per 2 mL for the first 10 mL, and $1.12 per 10 mL for volumes above that. This tax aims to discourage vaping, particularly among youth. The federal government will collect and return the tax to the province. Additionally, the excise duty on beer will increase by 2% in April, and a $200 annual tax on electric vehicle owners is expected soon. Income tax reductions promised for 2025 have been delayed, with a new 8% bracket for the first $60,000 being phased in over two years.
